Locus · private beta · for friends

Make progress on your goals without letting anything slip.

Set your goals and dump tasks anytime in plain text. Locus organizes them and prioritizes your most important work for the day against your goals.

Locus is built for people juggling too many tasks and goals who want a fast, simple, beautiful way to manage them.

I recommend using Locus by talking to it like an assistant. It's chat-first, so just message it in plain words. The workflows below are where it's strongest:

Set your goals

Tell it what you're working toward, then drag your goals into priority order in the Goals tab, highest at the top. Goals are the anchor here: a lot of the prioritizing centers on them, and the agent plans your day against that order.

"make a goal: sub-6 mile, 3 hours a week"

Dump and organize

Fastest way to capture: in the Chat tab, tap the text bar, then tap the microphone key on your keyboard and just talk. Brain-dump everything on your mind. Then ask it to process: it sorts your tasks into projects, sets priorities (high, medium, low), and adds due dates, all pointed at your goals. Projects are your major buckets, like Work, a side project, or Errands, so your list never becomes one long pile. Do this anytime the inbox piles up. Nothing forgotten.

"email the landlord, finish the Q3 deck, book dentist" "help me process my inbox"

Every morning

Say "plan my day." It picks your few must-dos, ranked against your goals. Tap any must-do to see why it was chosen. This is my favorite part of Locus, the thing I open the app for every morning. Then glance at your goals to remember what you're working toward, and check how you're tracking.

"plan my day" "how am I doing on get healthy?"

Through the day

Knock out your top 3 and check them off, with every small task still in view so nothing slips.

Anytime

You run the whole thing by talking. Capture a task the second it pops into your head, move things, mark them done, reprioritize, ask what's slipping. Just say it.

"move call dentist to tomorrow" "mark the Q3 deck done" "what's overdue?"

make a goal: read 12 books this year organize my tasks into projects I keep forgetting to follow up with Sam how am I tracking on my goals? what's on my plate this week? what did I get done today?

Since this is an early version, it will be rough around the edges. Please let me know if you run into bugs, frustrations, or anything that would make this tool way more useful to you.

Easiest way: screenshot in the app, write a comment, and send it to me as beta feedback without leaving Locus. It reaches me with the screenshot attached. And feel free to text me anytime. Your feedback would be really, really helpful.

And if you end up not liking it or not using it, knowing why helps me understand my target customer, or pivot the product.

Tip: tap Share, then Add to Home Screen to keep this guide one tap away.
